SITTER PROFILES AND AVAILABILITY

Each sitter is an independent contractor and is their own boss, able to set their own rates, rules, availability, etc.  Their profiles will help you become familiar with each of them to see which who might best suit your needs. We highly suggest that the sitters and clients discuss what is expected of them while caring for your homes and pets and create and sign contracts which can help keep expectations clear. On the resources page of our website, we have provided a sample contract to help suggest what might be important to include in your own contract.

About Me:
I am the owner of Anchorage Dog Walkers and Anchorage Dog Sitters and have been working with dogs since 2005.  It has been a quite entertaining and rewarding job!  I love getting to know all of the different doggie personalities.  In our home, there are two resident dogs, Dante (Lab/Pit mix maybe) and Zoe (Boxer/Pit mix).  They've been able to socialize with many of of my client dogs over the years, which they think is pretty fun!  We all enjoy the outdoors and being active and dog walks are a pretty big part of our lives.  We have a very dog friendly home that is cozy and clean.  Our large back yard is fully fenced in, great for playing fetch, and backs up to the Chester Creek Greenbelt.

About Me:

Hello!  I am 20 years old and currently a student at the University of Alaska Anchorage majoring in Natural Sciences with a concentration in Pre-Health Professions. I hope to soon become a Physicians Assistant, possibly working in obstetrics or surgery!

I was born and raised in Fairbanks and moved to Anchorage to go to school and live the bigger city life. I always had dogs when I was younger. For most of my life I had a golden retriever named Maddie and an Irish Setter named Jake. I always saw them as a part of my family and would always see them as a source of comfort and security which is one of the reasons why I’ve grown to love and appreciate dogs so much. Knowing that other people feel the exact same, I take great pride and responsibility when families trust me enough to take care of their dogs. Along with housesitting, I know that a certain amount of trust has to exist between the house owner and the sitter to be confident in knowing your house will be well taken care of when you’re gone, so I treat any house as if it were my own (which is always very clean!).

About Me:

I've grown up around animals all my life (mostly dogs) and have had a good amount of experience taking care of and having fun with lots of other kinds of animals also!  I love getting to meet new animals and spend time playing, relaxing, or getting to know their personalities. Learning what makes each pet jump for joy or wag their tail so hard it makes their butt wiggle is so rewarding and I like to think I'm not too bad at it, either :)  I have looked after goats, a miniature donkey, chickens, bunnies, cats, dogs, newborn puppies, reptiles, gerbils, birds, and fish, as well as volunteering at a horse rescue, and I hope that list continues to grow! I mostly have done pet sitting for friends and family but I'm excited to expand my circle to include new folks and critters around Anchorage.

In case you'd like to get to know me a bit more, I currently work at a Yoga studio and as of right now I don't have a very regular schedule so my hours are more flexible lately. I take classes there a few times a week as well as ride my bike, read, cook and bake, rock climb, walk and hang out with my dogs, and hang out with friends. I like to get out and have fun but I really enjoy some chill out alone time at the end of the day, too. Part of why I enjoy petsitting is that the people of Anchorage have such unique character and perspective, I really like seeing how they choose to set up their home space and it gives me inspiration for how I can make my own apartment feel more home-y. Not to mention how they tend to have some super awesome pets, too

About Me:

Growing up, I've always had at least 2 dogs and 2 cats around the house, if not more! Since moving out while going to school, I'm waiting for the day when I'm settled and able to give my own future fur babies a happy life! In the meantime, I would love to help you with yours! I have experience pet sitting multiple animals, and feel confident and responsible to keep yours safe while having a good time when you're gone. I am a 24 year old Physician Assistant student, and when I'm not on break, I spend most of my time studying. I try to get out to hike, ski, and run as much as I can, and would love to take a buddy! Because things are mostly online right now, I will likely be very flexible with your schedule.

About Me:

-  I'm a 36 year old mother of two boys (ages 10 and 12) plus a 2 year old sprint Alaskan Husky named Louie. I've always had affinity for animals and have had dogs my entire life. My experience caring for animals includes: dogs (including 8 sled dogs I kept inside), cats, hamsters, lizards, rats, birds, turtles, tropical fish, and snakes. I believe we can learn a lot from the animals we share our lives with and that they can teach us about ourselves too. I am a dog walker with Anchorage Dog Walkers. Louie and I get the privilege of spending our days with lots of furry friends! I enjoy spending time outside in the sun, running, biking, competing in triathlons, hiking, traveling, music, philosophy, and psychology. My schedule is quite flexible to spend time walking and playing with dogs, especially in the summer. My home is cozy, clean, and comfortable. I am just a 5 minute walk to Taku Lake and the Campbell Creek Trail system.

About Me:

I am a 22 year old student here in Anchorage at UAA. I grew up around dogs and have always enjoyed their company. I believe that both affection and upholding set boundaries contribute most to happy dogs. If you’re dog is high-energy we can play fetch in the yard or go for long walks. If you’re dog is old/disabled or just generally more low-energy, lounging around is no problem either. I have dog-sat for eight clients, the majority of which I have sat for on multiple occasions, and almost all were given the recommendation for me by DeEtta. I have less experience caring for cats but am totally willing and able to watch them if you need it. Because I am a student I am often busy and may need to be away from your home for long periods of time, depending on the day. I will still make time to come check on your pets, give them attention and play/walk so that they stay happy, and will spend the evening and night with them. I don’t mean to imply that I am not flexible, if your dog needs frequent potty breaks or gets nervous when home alone for long periods I am open to changing my schedule to suit your pet’s needs. I love pet-sitting, and it is my goal to not just feed your pets and make sure they are safe but to see that they enjoy the time we spend together. Time away from family can be stressful for pets and owners alike, and I want to make it as easy as possible for everyone.

About Me:

I am a social worker who loves hiking and knitting. Dogs have always been in my life. My dog-sitting career started when I was 14 years old. I enjoy getting to know each new dog and how I can best care for them. Unfortunately, as a young professional, having my own fur buddy isn’t in my budget yet. So opening up my home to watch your dogs is a great way to enrich my life with dogs and keep honing my training abilities. I strive to provide high-quality services to ensure my clients can fully enjoy their time away knowing that their dogs are being well cared for.

About Me:

Hi! I am 22 years old and am currently a full time student at the University of Alaska Anchorage. I am majoring in Natural Sciences with plans of applying to Dental School in order to become a dentist! I was born and raised in Anchorage, but have family in Brazil that I fly down to visit every once in awhile. When I was younger, I had a miniature Samoyed named Snowball who was very rambunctious. Currently I have a very sweet tuxedo cat named Meow Meow who I adore! I am always happy to to meet new dogs and cats so housesitting is an exciting opportunity to be able to branch out and do this. I am looking forward to being able to make your pets feel as loved and comfortable as I can while you are away!
